Proposed Expansion of Dagnall CE School

We are pleased to be able to share with you some very exciting plans that are in the early stages of development at Dagnall CE School.

Over the years, many parents have expressed their desire to keep their children at our school until the end of KS2 (Year 6). As an infant school, this is not currently possible and we therefore suffer from fluctuating admissions numbers due to the uncertainty of finding a place for KS2 (Y3-6) or we lose children from lower years as their siblings move up. We have therefore been working closely with Buckinghamshire County Council (BCC) and the Diocese of St Albans to consider plans that will offer the opportunity for children to stay at our school throughout their primary education.

In the week after the Spring half term, a formal consultation letter will be sent to parents of children at Dagnall CE School and all other residents and stakeholders in the local villages. The letter will give full details of the proposal and mark the start of a very thorough but fundamental consultation period, in which we hope to gain positive support. In addition to this, a public meeting will be held in the school about a week after the letter is issued so that you can see plans and talk to key members of the strategic committee and Buckinghamshire County Council about the plans.

Subject to the outcome of the consultation process, and if funding can be secured, then work would be undertaken to increase and improve the classroom spaces, with the addition of a further classroom, in order to house increased numbers of children. This is a very exciting prospect for our future but will not mean that we lose sight of what makes us different, as providing an education that nurtures curiosity, creativity and a sense of community will continue to be at the heart of what we do.
