Vision, Values & Golden Rules

 Following a successful vision week where children, staff, parents and governors came together to consider the distinctive character of our school, we have changed our school vision to more closely align with our core values and beliefs.

Rooted in God’s love, we aim high.

The children are really familiar with the concept of Aim High for their work;

But we wanted our vision to mean more.

We want everyone in our Dagnall family to have secure roots so that they can be the best version of themselves.

We want everyone to support themselves and others so that, through God’s love, they can aim high and be the kindest, the happiest, the most thoughtful and the most loving people that they can be.

Knowing that they have strong roots means that our children will feel confident to challenge themselves and even to make mistakes, safe in the knowledge that there is always someone here to help and support them.

 Our vision is underpinned by the parable of the mustard seed.

Then Jesus told another story: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed. A man plants the seed in his filed. The seed is the smallest of all seeds. But when it grows, it is one of the largest garden plants. It becomes a tree, big enough for the wild birds to come and make nests in its branches.” Matthew 12:31-32

We have been exploring the concept that with only a tiny seed of faith, listening to what Jesus says and learning more about his teachings- our faith can grow.

Our small school is 'like a small mustard seed, which is smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants'.   Mark 4:30-32

We want our school to be a place where-like the birds nesting, children, staff and parents feel like they have found their home.
